What Is Thermodynamic System?
Thermodynamic system is the heat transfer system where energy transfers from high temperature to low temperature. In other words, it is the part of universe where observations are recorded and rest of the universe make the surroundings. Thermodynamic system is included in the

- Closed system,
- Isolated system,
Open system: Capacity to exchange both
energy and matter with the surroundings is known as open system. For example a
tank filled with water is the best example of open system.
Closed system: When only energy can be
transferred in the system not matter is known as closed system. For example,
cylinders do not lose mass whether energy decreases or increases in the system.
Isolated system: This kind of system cannot exchange energy and matter both is considered as isolated system. When gas or air is compress in a cylinder would be known as closed system.
What Is Engineering Thermodynamics?
Engineering thermodynamics is the part mechanical and chemical engineering where engineers use this concept to solace the critical issue in engineering like they use the concept to understand the fuel efficiency of engines which help them in making and producing more efficient engine which would more fuel efficient.
